NotesMexiilhoeira Grande is a small village with a few cafes and local shops.Lagos is a short drive westwards and has several large supermarkets, local markets, bars, cafes, restaurants, a cinema, a pedestrianised shopping area in the old town, a marina, museums and enough character and life to suit most visitors. To the east is the town of Portimao, this also is a riverside fishing port and there are some excellent fish restaurants, a large market for produce and souvenirs and some enjoyable boat trips, either up the river to Silves or along the coast. Alvor which is well known for its beach, restuarants and waterfront is no more than ten minutes drive from the villa.
